The Malawi Enterprise Development Fund (MEDF) Limited has commenced a three-day orientation workshop for its reconstituted Institutional Integrity Committee (IIC) in Salima. Facilitating the workshop are the Acting Director of Corruption Prevention, Dr. Suzan Phiri, and other officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
In her remarks, Dr. Suzan Phiri commended MEDF management for organizing the orientation describing it as a clear demonstration of the institution’s commitment to promoting integrity and preventing corruption. She further appreciated MEDF’s continued partnership with the Bureau and expressed confidence that the collaboration would continue to strengthen ethical governance and accountability within the institution.
Speaking during the official opening, MEDF Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kayisi Sadala, emphasized that integrity is the foundation of good governance and sustainable institutional growth. He urged committee members to champion ethical conduct, identify systemic risks, strengthen internal controls, and help prevent corruption before it occurs.
The orientation reflects MEDF's continued commitment to fostering a culture of honesty, professionalism, and accountability, while strengthening institutional systems that promote transparency and public trust. The initiative also reinforces MEDF’s commitment to delivering financial services with integrity for the benefit of all Malawians.
