MEDF (Malawi Enterprise Development Fund) is a Government of Malawi initiative that provides affordable microfinance services to empower Malawians, especially women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other underserved entrepreneurs.

Any Malawian citizen with a viable business idea or income-generating activity may apply. Priority is given to women, youth (1835 years), persons with disabilities (PWDs), and rural micro-entrepreneurs.

Visit your nearest MEDF branch, collect and complete a loan application form, attach the required documents such as your National ID, business plan, and business registration (where applicable), then submit your application for assessment.

MEDF also offers business mentorship, financial literacy training, enterprise development programs, networking opportunities, and market linkage support to help entrepreneurs grow sustainable businesses.

The application process typically takes between 2 to 4 weeks. Applications submitted with complete and accurate documentation are generally processed faster.
